How to Reach Allahabad Kumbh

2019 Kumbh Mela is going to be organised at Prayag or Allahabad City located in Uttar Pradesh. 

Allahabad is a city in Southern Uttar Pradesh state of Northern India. It is situated at the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers, about 120 kms northwest of India’s oldest city of Varanasi.

Best way to reach Allahabad,

Train – if you are coming from outside India, is to take a direct flight to Delhi and then take one of the numerous connecting trains from Delhi to Allahabad. Choose for a train reaching Allahabad in daylight.

Allahabad railway station is also modernised to cater huge influx or tourist and pilgrims. Indian railway are expected to run 150 train special during 49 days of Kumbh mela.

Flight – Allahabad has a working airport, but suggest to take a flight either to the nearest airports of Varanasi (120 Kms) or Lucknow (200 kms). 

Upcoming flights are also going to facilitate air travel from Allahabad to Nagpur, Patna, Indore & Lucknow apart from other state capitals. 


Road – Allahabad is conveniently located and connected with other major cities of India via rail or road network.
